(v) That a bureau for the supply of marine biological specimens should be established in the Fisheries Institute under the direction of the Biology Department of the University.

76. (i) That honours teaching be offered in English Literature, this requiring the appointment of an additional Chinese Lecturer in the English Department and that an experimen- tal honours course in the comparative study of English and Chinese Literature be provided.

(11) That for the co-ordination and development of studies in Logic, Ethics and the History of Philosophy, and for comparative study of Western and Chinese Thought, a Reader in Philosophy and a lecturer in Chinese Philosophy should be appointed with the co-operation of the Sino-British Cultural Relations Association.

(111) That for the development of history studies the staff- should be increased by the appointment of a lecturer and two tutors.

(iv) That for the development of studies in Geography and Geology a Reader and a lecturer should be appointed.

(v) That courses in Commerce now offered should cease and in place thereof the University should develop a department for the teaching of Economics, Politics and Government, this requiring the appointment of a Chinese lecturer in Economics, in order, in combination with History and perhaps Philosophy, to provide a course similar to "Modern Greats" at Oxford.

(vi) That refresher courses for Chinese teachers in Hong

Kong and South China should be provided yearly,

(vii) That courses in Chinese should be prescribed for undergraduates following professional courses,

77. (1) That the appointment of a psychologist to work in the Education Department of the Government and to assist in the training of teachers in the University is desirable,

(11) That the courses for University Diploma in Teaching should provide particularly for the training of Chinese teachers of English.

(111) That refresher courses for teachers should be organized by the Government Department of Education and the University.

(iv) That the specialist employed by the Government Department of Education should assist in the training of teachers in the University in modern methods of physical education.

78. That additional expenditure on University libraries is necessary.
